2021 Brunello Anteprima Walkaround Tasting with Honest Grapes – Thursday 12th February
£80.00Read moreThursday 12th February St. James’s Room 18:00 - Walkaround tasting begins 20:00 - Walkaround tasting endsOur friends from Honest Grapes are back at the Club to showcase Brunello di Montalcino's newly released 2021 vintage and 2020 Riservas, drawn from a selection of the region’s standout estates. The 2021 vintage has already attracted significant acclaim, with Eric Guido of Vinous describing it as 'a marriage of the previous two vintages, combining rich, intense fruit with finely balanced tannins' to deliver 'elegance in the extreme'. Alongside the headline releases, a small selection of Rosso di Montalcino 2024 and late-release 2023s will also be poured, offering an early insight into the next chapter of the appellation. We will also be joined by Santiago Marone Cinzano, who will present the inaugural releases of his pioneering 'itinerant cru' Brunello Lot. 1. This ambitious project explores Sangiovese through a new lens, challenging traditional thinking by selecting the best-performing vineyard parcels each year, depending on the specific climatic conditions of that vintage. Whether you are building a cellar, revisiting familiar names, or discovering Brunello anew, we invite you to explore the region’s leading growers side by side, and taste the nuances of each estate through one of Brunello’s most anticipated recent vintages. Some of the producers whose wines we will be showcasing (please note this list is subject to change): Argiano Castello Romitorio Castiglion del Bosco Cortonesi Giodo Mastrojanni Patrizia Cencioni ValdicavaPlease note that once your order is placed, your ticket status will display as “processing” until after the event, when your member account is then charged. Hamilton Russell Vineyards 50th Anniversary dinner with Anthony Hamilton Russell – Thursday 6th March

Any cancellations within 5 days of the event are non-refundable unless 67 Pall Mall resells the ticket to another Member. This is only possible when the event is sold out and there is a waiting list. There are certain wineries whose reputation spans not just that of their own wines, but that of the region which they represent. Hamilton Russell Vineyards is one such estate, its championing of South Africa’s coastal Hemel-en-Aarde district, 50 years ago, foreshadowing and enabling the region’s emergence as the country’s prime cool-climate haven. Even 30 years ago, it was still the only winery in the region. Today, there are 28 – and Hamilton Russell’s Pinot Noir and Chardonnay stand indisputably among the country’s finest. The brand was founded by Tim Hamilton Russell in 1975, but its international acclaim has been achieved under the direction of his son, Anthony, who took over in 1994. Throughout it all, the focus on just two varieties has remained total. ‘The best decision I ever made,’ says Anthony, ‘was focusing solely on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, instead of 11 different varieties.’ Anthony’s recent interview in our Back Label newsletter will give some sense of what an entertaining speaker he is. We are delighted to welcome him to the club to celebrate the 50th year of his family winery with a Pinot-themed dinner going back into the archives. Do join us for what should be a memorable evening. 67 Pall Mall Presents – Storming of the Sazerac
£150.00'Storming the Sazerac' has become an annual ritual at the Roosevelt Hotel, New Orleans since September 23rd, 1949, when a platoon of women elbowed their way into the Sazerac Bar in a moment of civil disobedience, in pursuit of equal rights and a stiff drink. Women had earned the right to vote nearly thirty years before, but women hadn’t yet fully made their way past the velvet ropes of the many de facto boy’s clubs across America. We Storm the Sazerac on 24th September in the Members' Lounge to celebrate this infamous occasion... Themed live music will be in full swing, as we wind back the clock and cross the pond to 1940s New Orleans. We will begin with a Sazerac cocktail, followed by a 3-course New Orleans-inspired lunch at 1pm. Members will have the opportunity to showcase their foxtrots and jives post-lunch, as we hit the dancefloor to the iconic beat of Dixieland jazz. This event will be BYOB, so bring something that you would like to share with fellow ladies of the Club, however our Members' Lounge wine list will also be available on the day. It is helpful to note that we will make an addendum to our dress code policy for the evening, as we encourage Members to dress with a sartorial nod to post-war New Orleans style. Think 'The New Look', gloves, seamed stockings, shirtwaisters and pillbox hats... Saturday 24th September Members' Lounge 12.30 - Sazerac cocktail on arrival 13.00 - Lunch begins 15.30 - Event to close Ladies are warmly encouraged to continue the celebrations in the Clubroom upstairs once the Members' Lounge Lunch has drawn to a close...Add to cart -

An intimate dinner showcasing the wines of Tasmania – Wednesday 29th October
£145.00Read moreOver the last decade or so, the wines of Tasmania have been receiving increasingly enthusiastic plaudits. The rise to prominence has coincided with a thirst for elegant, nuanced wines of restraint and character – qualities that the island’s cool climate is perfectly equipped to produce. Today, winemakers are queuing up to exploit the state’s island air, long summer days, wet winters and varied topography. But Tasmania’s vinous heritage dates back a generation or two earlier, to a handful of enterprising pioneers… Founded in 1958 – making it Tasmania’s second-oldest winery – Moorilla was transformed after its purchase in the ‘90s by colourful gambler David Walsh. While Walsh is perhaps best known for his installation of Hobart’s renowned – and somewhat risqué – Museum of Old and New Art, the bold, innovative wines made at the equally striking Morilla winery are arguably even more noteworthy. There, Canadian winemaker Conor van der Best harnesses grapes from two geographically distinct vineyards (Moorilla in the south, St Matthias in the north) to create three Tasmanian expressions of European styles: Cloth, Muse and Praxis. Domaine A, meanwhile, was the dream of Swiss expatriates Peter and Ruth Althaus, who, having searched far and wide for their perfect spot, settled on Stoney Vineyard (the oldest in Tasmania’s most noted wine region, Coal River Valley, planted in 1973). More than a few eyebrows were raised when they chose to champion Cabernet Sauvignon on the north-facing, ocean-influenced site. But with the vines receiving some of the longest daylight hours in Australia, and a cellar regime that can see a decade or more of ageing before release, the resultant wines show incredible subtlety and poise. It was an approach that carried Domaine A quietly to the forefront of Australian winemaking until Peter and Ruth’s retirement in 2018, when they handed over to the new custodians: the Walsh- van der Reest combo of Moorilla. We are delighted to welcome Conor van der Reest to the Club to host an intimate dinner featuring the wines of both producers. We invite you to join us to discover them for yourselves, introduced by the winemaker behind them, in what promises to be an enlightening evening. Our menu for the night: Welcome drink: Cloth, Late Disgorged Sparkling, Moorilla, Tasmania, Australia Foie gras & game terrine, fig chutney, sourdough 2023 Sauvignon Blanc, Praxis, Moorilla, Tasmania, Australia 2023 Pinot Noir, Praxis, Moorilla, Tasmania, Australia Stuffed cornfed chicken, salami, rainbow chard 2018 Pinot Noir, Muse, Moorilla, Tasmania, Australia 2018 Pinot Noir, Domaine A, Tasmania, Australia A selection of British & European cheeses 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, Domaine A, Tasmania, Australia 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon, Stoney Vineyard, Domaine A, Tasmania, AustraliaPlease reach out to [email protected] if you have any dietary requirements/allergies. Into the Vines Through the Wines of Friuli-Venezia Giulia – Tuesday 21st February
£50.00Nudging up against Slovenia and Austria, Friuli-Venezia Giulia’s name has been made on the back of characterful, whistle-clean white wines which seem to directly echo the purity of the region’s mountainous terroir; however, this doesn’t even begin to tell the full story. Here you will also find generous and elegant reds, not to mention a swathe of idiosyncratic wine styles found nowhere else - anyone for a super-macerated, copper-coloured Pinot Grigio that’s been aged on its lees for two years? We hope Members will be similarly enthused and delighted to welcome Matteo Bellotto and Angelo Turi from Friuli-Venezia Giulia’s consorzio, as we taste the nuances of a region which plays host to 66 different varieties planted on a complex array of soils. Aided by in-depth data presented via Google Earth, Members will embark on a journey deep into the viticultural tradition of a region whose uniqueness is perfectly transmitted through its wines. The wines we will be tasting: 2021 Adriano Gigante, Friulano Vigneto Storico 2020 Livio Felluga, Terre Alte 2021 Venica & Venica, Ronco delle Mele 2018 Ermacora, Picolit 2019 Specogna, Pinot Grigio Ramato Riserva 2016 Attimis Maniago, Tazzelenghe 2016 Ermacora, Pignolo 2016 Valentino Butussi, Godje Tuesday 21st February St James’s Room 18:30 Welcome Drink 19:00 Masterclass starts 20:30 Masterclass endsRead morePlease note, tickets are refundable for cancellations up to 48 hours before the event.
