German and Australian Riesling with Erni Loosen and Sam Barry – Monday 30th March
£95.00 – £110.00Price range: £95.00 through £110.00What happens when you cross a legendary German Riesling with its Australian counterpart? That’s what Erni Loosen asked Peter Barry a decade ago, when he proposed making an Australian wine with a German philosophy – all in celebration of what the family behind Clare Valley’s Jim Barry describe as ‘a long, valued and occasionally dangerous friendship’. Erni first met Peter Barry – son of founder Jim – in London in the mid-‘80s, though it wasn’t until 2016 that he suggested they make a Riesling together in Australia. ‘But I told him that it had to be made in the traditional German way,’ says Erni. ‘The way my great grandfather made them, with indigenous yeast and aged two years in the barrel on full lees.’ Ten years on, the Wolta Wolta Riesling is a singular wine – the fruit left to hang a couple of weeks longer than the rest of the vineyard, and made exactly as Erni stipulated, aged for a year in the same older, large oak foudres he uses for his Grosses Gewächs wines for a savoury, ageworthy complexity and texture. The ebullient Erni is best known as the saviour of German Riesling, having transformed the reputation of the category through his Dr Loosen estate in the Mosel. The name Jim Barry, meanwhile, resonates just as strongly in Australian wine circles, as one of the forces who helped shape Clare Valley into one of the country’s leading regions. We are delighted to welcome third-generation Sam Barry to join Erni for some lively conversations, shaped – and hopefully just about controlled – by the editor of our Back Label newsletter, Guy Woodward. As well as the Wolta Wolta Rieslings, we will also taste the Slate Hill cuvée – a similar collaboration but from younger vines and aged in stainless steel for a more accessible, refreshing style – as well as Jim Barry’s own Florita Riesling, and two Mosel equivalents from Dr Loosen, including a 2012 Grosses Gewächs from Erni’s own cellar. The wines we will be tasting: 2023 Slate Hill, Loosen Barry, Clare Valley, Australia 2015 Florita Riesling, Jim Barry, Clare Valley, Australia 2024 Florita Riesling, Jim Barry, Clare Valley, Australia 2018 Wolta Wolta Riesling, Loosen Barry, Clare Valley, Australia 2022 Wolta Wolta Riesling, Loosen Barry, Clare Valley, Australia 2019 Riesling, Reserve Grosses Gewächs, Unterst Pichter, Ürziger Würzgarten, Dr Loosen, Mosel 2012 Riesling, Reserve Grosses Gewächs, Unterst Pichter, Ürziger Würzgarten, Dr Loosen, Mosel Monday 30th March St. James’s Room 18:30 - Welcome reception 19:00 - Masterclass starts 20:30 - Masterclass endsSelect options This product has multiple variants. Burgundy and Oregon come together in the wines of Domaine Nicolas-Jay – Thursday 23rd October
£95.00 – £110.00Price range: £95.00 through £110.00Over the last two decades or so, the quality of Oregon Pinot Noir and Chardonnay has drawn attention not just from critics and consumers, but from Burgundian winemakers, with several notable names investing in the US state. Among them is Jean-Nicolas Méo of the renowned Domaine Méo-Camuzet who, in 2013, joined up with long-time friend and visionary US music entrepreneur Jay Boberg to launch Domaine Nicolas-Jay. Working initially with a variety of growers to source grapes from across the Willamette Valley, the pair set out to blend Burgundian tradition with the vibrancy of a young winegrowing region. Their inaugural 2014 vintage, sourced from nine distinguished vineyards, earned immediate critical acclaim and in 2019 they expanded to a dedicated estate in Dundee Hills, planting Pinot Noir vines from Burgundy and converting a barn into a winery. They have since added the organically farmed, own-rooted Bishop Creek site in Yamhill-Carlton as part of a move towards focusing on single-vineyard wines. Jay and Jean-Nicolas are firmly of the belief that, when approached with the same patience and reverence as practised by Méo-Camuzet in its Burgundy grands and premiers crus, Oregon Pinot Noir and Chardonnay can produce ageworthy wines of profound depth and character. In just a decade, Nicolas-Jay has cemented its place as a bridge between the Old World and the New, and with each release, further solidified itself as one of the state’s most compelling wineries. The team at 67 had the pleasure of tasting with Jay earlier in the year (see here for his interview in The Back Label) and we’re thrilled to welcome him back to the Club to talk Members through the wines – as well as a bonus bottle from Méo-Camuzet. The wines we will be tasting: 2022 Chardonnay, Affinités, Nicolas-Jay, Willamette Valley, Oregon 2023 Chardonnay, Bishop Creek, Nicolas-Jay, Yamhill-Carlton, Oregon 2022 Pinot Noir, L'Ensemble, Nicolas-Jay, Willamette Valley, Oregon 2023 Pinot Noir, Bishop Creek, Nicolas-Jay, Yamhill-Carlton, Oregon 2023 Pinot Noir, Own-Rooted, Nicolas-Jay, Willamette Valley, Oregon 2023 Pinot Noir, Nysa, Nicolas-Jay, Dundee Hills, Oregon 2022 Nuits-St Georges, Domaine Méo-Camuzet Thursday 23rd October St James’s Room 18:30 - Welcome reception 19:00 - Masterclass starts 20:30 - Masterclass endsSelect options This product has multiple variants. The history and revival of German Riesling – Friday 8th May
£125.00 – £140.00Price range: £125.00 through £140.00Select options This product has multiple variants. The options may be chosen on the product pageBack in the late 19th century, Britain was the world’s most important market for the finest German white wines, known as Hock. A century later, most British drinkers associated German whites with the inexpensive, sweet Liebfraumilch style that fuelled a generation of house parties.
Both styles were approximations of the much-maligned German Riesling, whose reputation suffered as a result. Only more recently has it recovered to reclaim its rightful place as one of world’s most nuanced, terroir-driven wines. Join our Head Sommelier & Lounge Operations Elton Muço and Sommelier Max Melvin to rediscover German Riesling through the lens of its fascinating relationship with the British market. Elton and Max will explore the key styles, classifications and vineyards, from the development of the Prädikat system (Kabinett, Auslese, Spätlese, etc) to the emergence of the premium Grosses Gewächs. Through a curated selection of exceptional Rieslings across vineyards, vintages and styles, from bone-dry to lusciously sweet, Members will experience how this noble grape has evolved under the careful husbandry of its premium producers. We invite you to join Elton and Max for an enlightening and enchanting Friday evening. The wines we’ll be tasting: 2022 Riesling, Trocken, Bronzelack, Schloss Johannisberg, Rheingau 2020 Riesling, Trocken, C.O. Domaine Dujac and Snowden Vineyards with Diana Snowden Seysses – Thursday 26th March
£115.00 – £130.00Price range: £115.00 through £130.00As you might be able to glean from her name, Diana Snowden Seysses has a foot on both sides of the transatlantic wine divide. Growing up in Napa Valley, she studied viticulture and oenology at University of California, Davis, spending two summers as a grape sampler at Robert Mondavi Winery. It was there that she met her future husband, Jeremy Seysses of Burgundy’s famed Domaine Dujac. After further experience at wineries in California and France, including, Araujo, Ramey, Fleur de Boüard and Domaine Leflaive, in 2003 Diana joined her husband to make the wine at Dujac. But when her father reported a rampant Brettanomyces infection at her family’s Napa Valley estate two years later, she was persuaded back to California. Since then, she has split her time between both wineries. The Snowden family has owned vineyards in Napa since 1955, though for the first half-century, it mostly sold its grapes, to a range of producers - notably Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars in the 1980s, and then the likes of Silver Oak, Ramey, Viader and Caymus in the ‘90s. Since Diana has taken the helm, the range of wines has grown in both quantity and quality, and today her single-vineyard, organic, minimal-intervention approach yields some of Napa’s most elegant, site-specific Cabernets. We are thrilled to welcome Diana to compare and contrast Burgundian and Californian approaches to terroir, sustainability and winemaking gleaned from her 20+ years in both camps. An expansive and forthcoming host, Diana will hold forth on a range of topics, while presenting a line-up of wines from Snowden Vineyards, two cuvées from Dujac, and the latest vintage of the popular Provence rosé from the Triennes winery, founded by her father-in-law Jacques Seysses and Aubert de Villaine of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. The wines we will be tasting: 2024 Rosé, Triennes, IGP Var, Provence 2024 Sauvignon Blanc, Sunninghill, Snowden Vineyards, Napa Valley 2021 Morey-Saint-Denis, Domaine Dujac 2022 Nuits-Saint-Georges, 1er Cru Aux Cras, Dujac Fils & Père 2021 Merlot, Cousins, Snowden Vineyards, Napa Valley 2019 Cabernet Franc, Melchior Kemper Vineyard, Snowden Vineyards, Napa Valley 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon, The Ranch, Snowden Vineyards, Napa Valley 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon, Los Ricos Vineyard, Snowden Vineyards, Napa Valley 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon, Brothers Vineyard, Snowden Vineyards, Napa Valley 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon, Brothers Vineyard, Snowden Vineyards, Napa Valley 2005 Snowden Reserve, Snowden Vineyards, Napa Valley Thursday 26th March St. James’s Room 18:30 - Welcome reception 19:00 - Masterclass starts 20:30 Masterclass endsSelect options This product has multiple variants. Discover one of Burgundy’s most fascinating domaines – Tuesday 24th February
£195.00 – £210.00Price range: £195.00 through £210.00Select options This product has multiple variants. The options may be chosen on the product pageDomaine Prieuré-Roch stands among Burgundy’s most fascinating estates – described by Jasper Morris MW as 'exceptional and unconventional’. The story begins in 1988 when Henry-Frédéric Roch - then co-director of the legendary Domaine de la Romanée-Conti - chose to forge his own path by acquiring prime vineyard parcels being sold by DRC. Roch’s lineage gave him a rare insight: he was the grandson of Henri Leroy, the revered founder of Maison Leroy, and closely tied to the great Burgundian families that shape the region’s history. Over the years, the domaine has grown to encompass around 20 hectares across some of Burgundy’s most famous terroirs - from Gevrey-Chambertin and Vosne-Romanée through Nuits-Saint-Georges, Ladoix and Savigny-les-Beaune. Almost unheard of in the Côte d’Or, Prieuré-Roch owns three of the region’s most prestigious clos as monopoles: Clos des Corvées in Nuits-Saint-Georges; fellow premier cru Clos des Varoilles in Gevrey-Chambertin; and the jewel-like Clos Goillotte in Vosne-Romanée. Inspired by his grandfather’s legacy, Roch farmed organically, championed whole-bunch vinification and avoided synthetic treatments, allowing the terroir to shine through. Since his passing in 2018, Roch’s philosophy has continued under the stewardship of winemaker Antonio Quari, whose wines are celebrated for their extraordinary energy, aromatic complexity and layered depth. We are delighted to invite Members to join Antonio for what promises to be a fascinating evening exploring the wines via the 2023 vintage, alongside a bonus 2017 wine. The wines we will be tasting: 2023 Ladoix Le Cloud, Le Clou Rouge, Domaine Prieuré-Roch 2023 Vieilles Vignes Premier Cru, Gevrey-Chambertin, Domaine Prieuré-Roch 2023 Clos des Varoilles Premier Cru (Monopole), Gevrey-Chambertin, Domaine Prieuré-Roch 2023 Vieilles Vignes Premier Cru, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Domaine Prieuré-Roch 2023 Vosne-Romanee, Le Clos Goillotte, Domaine Prieuré-Roch 2023 Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru, Chambertin, Domaine Prieuré-Roch 2017 Le Clos des Corvées Premier Cru, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Domaine Prieuré-Roch Tuesday 24th February St. James’s Room 18:30 - Welcome reception 19:00 - Masterclass starts 20:30 - Masterclass endsPlease note that once your order is placed, your ticket status will display as “processing” until after the event, when your member account is then charged. Burgundy’s dynamic Domaine Génot-Boulanger with owner Guillaume Lavolée – Wednesday 29th April
£125.00 – £140.00Price range: £125.00 through £140.00When merchant Justerini & Brooks began importing the wines of Domaine Génot-Boulanger in 2018, it did so in a state of shock. ‘It’s not every day that we come across a 22ha domaine in Burgundy that we have never encountered before, producing wines of such outstanding quality,’ says the merchant’s senior buyer Julian Campbell. The domaine was born as the lifelong dream of two Parisian pharmacists, Charles-Henri Génot and his wife Marie Boulanger, brought to life when they moved to Meursault and purchased vineyards in Mercurey in 1974. After further acquisitions across the Côte d’Or and Côte de Nuits, by the time their grandson Francois Delaby inherited the estate in 1998, he had 22 hectares of prime vineyard at his disposal. Ten years later his daughter Aude and son-in-law Guillaume Lavollée took over and are today the fourth generation to lead the estate. The couple have led a conversion to organic farming, while winemaking follows a non-interventionist approach via indigenous yeasts and gentle extractions including some whole-bunch, and just 20% new oak. Rather like Aude and Guillaume themselves, the wines are precise, composed and elegant. ‘We were taken aback during our initial visit, a tasting which proved startling for its consistent brilliance for both white and red wines,’ recalls Campbell. A year later, tasting the 2018 wines, he went so far as to say he ‘couldn’t think of any other domaine in the Côte that excelled so equally and consistently in both red and white’. Fitting, then, that we will taste two of the 2018 wines with owner Guillaume Lavollée when he joins us to present the domaine. The main focus will be on the 2023s, a range described by Campbell as ‘a tour de force’ via whites with extract, intensity, structure and length; and reds that are translucent, elegant, refined and pure. Come and taste them yourself, with the man who made them. The wines we’ll be tasting: 2017 Corton, Les Combes, Grand Cru, Domaine Génot-Boulanger 2018 Beaune, Les Grèves, 1er Cru, Domaine Génot-Boulanger 2018 Pommard Clos Blanc 1er Cru, Domaine Génot-Boulanger 2022 Pommard, Vieilles Vignes, Domaine Génot-Boulanger 2023 Corton-Charlemagne, Grand Cru, Domaine Génot Boulanger 2023 Mercurey, En Sazenay, 1er Cru, Domaine Génot Boulanger 2023 Puligny Montrachet, Les Nosroyes, Domaine Génot Boulanger 2023 Meursault, Clos du Cromin, Domaine Génot-Boulanger 2023 Meursault, Les Bouchères, 1er Cru, Domaine Génot Boulanger Wednesday 29th April St. James’s Room 18:30 – Glass on arrival 19:00 – Masterclass starts 20:30 – Masterclass endsSelect options This product has multiple variants. English sparkling wine star Gusbourne with Laura Rhys MS – Monday 8th December
£115.00 – £130.00Price range: £115.00 through £130.00Right from its founding in 2004, English sparkling wine producer Gusbourne has been resolutely focused on quality above all else. All its wines are vintage releases, and all are sourced from estate-owned vineyards. That focus reached its apogee with the release a few years ago of its prestige cuvée Fifty One Degrees North – then, and now, the most ambitiously priced English fizz on the market. Selected from the producer’s best base wines from its top plots, aged for 92 months on lees and made only in standout vintages, the second edition of the wine – the 2016 – bested the likes of Dom Pérignon, Dom Ruinart and Krug Grand Cuvée in the ‘Battle of the Bubbles’ blind tasting at the London Wine Fair earlier this year. Only 5,000 bottles have been made of the 2016 vintage, and now, a tiny number of magnums have been released – the first time it has been bottled in such a format. We are delighted to present Members with the first chance to taste the wine from magnum at an extensive tasting of the Gusbourne range. In addition, we will enjoy the first taste of a new addition to the Gusbourne portfolio – its barrel-aged Oak Reserve. There will also be a chance to sample the new vintages of the estate’s single-vineyard wines, exploring the differences between sites in Kent and Sussex, while Members will enjoy a selection of Blanc de Blancs and Blanc de Noirs, to showcase the difference between Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Gusbourne Head of Wine Laura Rhys MS moved from the floor of Michelin-starred restaurants to the vineyards of the South Downs a decade ago, and has since helped guide Gusbourne’s journey to the top table of English wine. It is fitting that, over that same time, Gusbourne has been a staunch supporter of the Club, right from our own opening a decade ago. As we prepare to celebrate our 10th anniversary, we are delighted to welcome Laura back to the Club to guide Members through what is sure to be a fantastic evening. The wines we will be tasting: 2019 Gusbourne, Blanc de Blancs 2019 Gusbourne, Blanc de Blancs, Middle Barn Vineyard 2019 Gusbourne, Blanc de Blancs, Commanders Vineyard 2015 Gusbourne, Blanc de Blancs 2015 Gusbourne, Blanc de Blancs (from magnum) 2019 Gusbourne, Oak Reserve 2019 Gusbourne, Blanc de Noirs, Downfield Vineyard 2018 Gusbourne, Blanc de Noirs, Heartbreak Vineyard 2020 Gusbourne, Blanc de Noirs 2018 Gusbourne, Blanc de Noirs 2018 Gusbourne, Blanc de Noirs (from magnum) 2016 Gusbourne, Fifty One Degrees North (from magnum) Monday 8th December St. James’s Room 18:30 – Welcome reception 19:00 – Masterclass begins 20:30 – Masterclass endsSelect options This product has multiple variants. Explore the Koshu wines of Japan – Wednesday 4th February
£70.00 – £85.00Price range: £70.00 through £85.00The first record of Japanese winemaking dates back to 1874, in Yamanashi Prefecture. Here, north of Mt Fuji on the main island, Koshu is king – Japan’s most important indigenous grape variety and now an increasingly in-vogue style across the world. Wines made from Koshu cover a broad stylistic spectrum, from refined fizz to elegant, mineral-driven whites and nuanced renderings with gentle skin contact, while the delicate pink hue of its berries echo the shades of the country’s signature cherry blossom. We are delighted to welcome seasoned sommelier Raku Oda, who specialises in the wines of his native Japan, to introduce Koshu’s stylistic diversity through a focused, engaging masterclass exploring multiple expressions. Raku’s 20-year sommelier career across Tokyo and London has most recently involved a five-year stint on the sommelier team at the three-Michelin-starred Fat Duck. Whether you are new to Koshu or keen to benchmark leading producers, this tasting offers a concise tour of the terroirs of Yamanashi – today Japan’s most important wine region – and the nuanced, food-friendly profiles that make Koshu so compelling. Ruinart Masterclass with Chef de Caves Frédéric Panaïotis – Monday 20th February
£125.00On Monday 20th February, we will be thrilled to welcome Frédéric Panaïotis, the chef de caves of Ruinart, to the Club. Ruinart stands as not only one of Champagne’s most sophisticated grandes marques, but also the region’s oldest established House, with 1729 marking its year of birth. Frédéric, whose hand has been on the Ruinart tiller since 2007, oversees its entire portfolio which stretches from the non-vintage Blanc de Blancs through to the majestic Dom Ruinart. Centred around a theme of ‘uncorked’, Frédéric - who is regarded as one of Champagne’s most talented winemakers - will be shining a light on the indispensable role that cork plays in Champagne production, most notably the ageing process. For the 2010 vintage of Dom Ruinart, Frédéric took the remarkable step of moving away from the industry norm of ageing Champagne under a crown seal to cork ageing, and this very special evening gives our Members the opportunity to taste the startling results, with both Dom Ruinart 2009 and 2010 being on the tasting menu. We look forward to you joining us for a masterclass which should be gold-plated into the diary of our Champagne-loving Members. The wines we will be tasting: R de Ruinart Brut (on arrival) Blanc de Blancs Brut 2010 Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blancs Brut 2009 Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blancs Brut Monday 20th February St. James’s Room 18:30 - Glass on arrival 19:00 - Masterclass begins 20:00 - Masterclass endsRead morePlease note, tickets are refundable for cancellations up to 48 hours before the event. Art Tour of the Club – Meet the artists – Thursday 17th November
£0.00Regular visitors to the Club will have noticed the ever-changing collection of contemporary artwork that adorns our walls. These unique pieces have been created by a talented collective of painters who work out of the Turps Studio Programme, an innovative and dynamic project based in southeast London, which offers studio space and an intensive mentoring programme. On Thursday 17th November, our Members have the opportunity to meet these gifted creatives in the Naughty Corner and hear more about their practice and inspiration. For both sessions, the artists will be accompanied by Christian Mooney, founder and director of Arcade, the company responsible for arranging the programme of exhibitions for the Turps Studio pieces. It is helpful to note that tickets are free, but please do book your place. The Memory of Swiss Wines: Rare older vintages of Switzerland’s finest with Simon Hardy DipWSET Part 1 with Fred Hoffman – Friday 29th 2022
£85.00Production of Switzerland’s top cuvées rarely exceeds 2,000 bottles per wine each year. Opportunities to taste Swiss fine wines are therefore rare, especially abroad since less than 2% of all Swiss wine is exported. ‘La Mémoire des Vins Suisses’ is an association of select producers and experts dedicated to raising the awareness and reputation of Swiss fine wines. Since 2002 it has been building a memory bank of Switzerland’s top wines, an ever-increasing cache of regularly critiqued library vintages. Currently, 57 producers contribute the same one wine year after year, representing all the leading grape varieties, styles and regions. This pair of tasting events is a truly exceptional opportunity - a first outside Switzerland - to sample a selection of the Swiss fine wines chosen by La Mémoire. In most cases, one older vintage will be poured alongside a younger vintage. Our host Simon Hardy DipWSET, Swiss Wine Ambassador at the Club, will be joined on April 29th by Fred Hoffmann whose father André owns the Domaine de la Pierre Latine and on May 6th by Gilles Besse, co-owner of Domaine Jean-René Germanier. In Switzerland, 67 Pall Mall Verbier lists all 57 wines of La Mémoire and, by the end of April, expects to become an official restaurant partner of La Mémoire, giving it exclusive access to vintages as far back as 1999. Simon will return to the Club for Part 2 of his Swiss Wine Masterclass on May 6th. The wines will be tasting: 2016 Domaine de la Pierre Latine, Clos du Crosex Grillé, Aigle Grand Cru, Vaud, Chablais 2019 Domaine de la Pierre Latine, Clos du Crosex Grillé, Aigle Grand Cru, Vaud, Chablais 2016 Domaine des Muses, Humagne Blanche Tradition, Valais 2019 Domaine des Muses, Humagne Blanche Tradition, Valais 2012 Les Frères Dutruy, Gamay Grande Réserve Les Romaines, Vaud 2019 Les Frères Dutruy, Gamay Grande Réserve Les Romaines, Vaud 2018 Weingut Donatsch, Pinot Noir Passion Graubünden 2015 Gialdi Vini - Sassi Grossi, Ticino 2019 Gialdi Vini - Sassi Grossi, Ticino Should the event sell out before you are able to secure a ticket, please register your interest on the waiting list using this form. Barolo Boys Cru Castelletto Special featuring Gian Luca Colombo – Tuesday 12th April 2022
£100.00The Barolo Boys are back with their first event of 2022, welcoming Gian Luca Colombo as the duo becomes a trio… Members will join Nelson Pari, Federico Moccia & Gianluca in a journey to the district/cru of Castelletto, located in Monforte d’Alba, next to Ceretta. Castelletto has been largely neglected by critics, despite being capable of great austerity and longevity. It is for this reason that we invite Members to the first ever tasting of the Cru of Castelletto, where our vivacious hosts will be introducing the first vintage of the cru made by legendary winemaker Fabio Alessandria of Burlotto, great-great grandson of G.B. Burlotto, the first winemaker to sell Barolo in bottles. We are excited to be sharing this exclusive opportunity with our Members, in what is certain to be another electrifying evening with the Barolo Boys. We hope to see you there… The wines we will be tasting: 2018 Barolo Castelletto, Burlotto 2018 Barolo Castelletto, Castello di Perno 2018 Barolo Castelletto, Forte Masso 2018 Barolo Castelletto, Manzone 2018 Barolo Castelletto, Conterno Fantino 2018 Barolo Castelletto, Fratelli Seghesio Tuesday 12th April 2022 St James’s Room 18.30 – Welcome drink on arrival 19:00 – Masterclass starts 20:30 – Masterclass end Should the event sell out before you are able to secure a ticket, please register your interest on the waiting list using this form. The wines of the Hospices de Beaune, both old and new – Monday 3rd November
£125.00 – £140.00Price range: £125.00 through £140.00Burgundy’s annual Hospices de Beaune auction is a benchmark of the international wine calendar. The event sees barrels of wine from the latest vintage, featuring most of the Côte de Beaune’s most famous sites, bid on by négociants, merchants and private buyers, with the proceeds going to the local hospital and other charitable causes. Maison Albert Bichot has been the major buyer at the Hospices de Beaune for many years now and we are pleased to welcome the house’s technical director, Matthieu Mangenot, to present a tasting for Members in advance of this year’s auction, which will take place on Sunday November 16th. Matthieu will present a pair of wines (red and white) to illustrate the qualities of the 2025 vintage – and to talk through the process of assessing them, along with tips on the likely availability, pricing and logistics of the wines featuring in this year’s auction. He has also selected six Hospices de Beaune wines that are now in bottle, from a range of vintages, highlighting some of the most famous cuvées, to show how these wines develop over time. Matthieu will be joined on stage by our good friend – and longstanding 67 Member – Richard Bampfield MW, to provide further insight into the mechanics of this Burgundian tradition. Technology permitting, we will also be joined by Ludivine Griveau-Gemma, régisseur at Domaines des Hospices de Beaune, who will provide an update on the 2025 vintage, live from Burgundy. The wines we will be tasting: 2020 Saint Romain, Cuvée Joseph Menault, Domaine des Hospices de Beaune 2022 Meursault, Cuvée Loppin, Domaine des Hospices de Beaune 2018 Savigny-les-Beaune (Rouge), 1er Cru Cuvée Arthur Girard, Domaine des Hospices de Beaune 2023 Beaune 1er Cru (Rouge), Cuvée Dames Hospitalières, Domaine des Hospices de Beaune 2023 Volnay 1er Cru, General Muteau, Domaine des Hospices de Beaune 2019 Corton Grand Cru, Cuvée Charlotte Dumay, Domaine des Hospices de Beaune Plus 2 x barrel samples of the 2025 vintage, TBC (1x white, 1x red) Monday 3rd November St. James’s Room 18:30 - Welcome reception 19:00 - Masterclass begins 20:30 - Masterclass endsSelect options This product has multiple variants.
