Here she meets Lucía Romero Marcuzzi, manging director of the family owned El Porvenir which is increasingly namechecked as a source of top-flight Argentinian wine and whose sun-drenched vineyards are planted at 1650-1900m. Romero Marcuzzi discusses El Porvenir’s journey which began with a rundown winery and similarly weary parcels of old-vine Tannat and Torrontés.   Hosted by Amanda Barnes,  Thibaut Del Motte & Javier Grane One of Argentina’s oldest, highest and most respected producers, Colomé sits at the top table of the country’s wine scene in every sense. In 2001 it was acquired by Swiss entrepreneur Donald Hess who reinvigorated both the winery and the local community, many of whom are employed in the cellars and vineyards of Colomé. South American wine expert Amanda Barnes discusses Colomé’s story with its winemaker Thibaut Delmotte and vineyard manager Javier Grane.   Live From the Vines: Domaine Jean-René Germanier

  Hosted by Chandra Kurt & Gilles Besse Founded in 1886 by Urbain Germanier, Jean-René Germanier - one of Switzerland’s most heritage-rich wineries - is now under the stewardship of the eponymous Jean-René and his winemaker nephew Gilles Besse. Besse was just 24 years old when he was approached by his uncle to join the family winery. A jazz saxophonist by trade, he knew nothing about wine yet hit the books with gusto and in 1993 made his winemaking bow at an estate which has been farmed sustainably for two decades. Swiss wine expert Chandra Kurt meets the pair, in search not only of more atypical tales, but also the ingredients which have taken this producer to the vanguard of Swiss wine, and its collection of cuvées which celebrate both international and proudly native varietals.
