Live From the Vines: Oldenburg Vineyards
Hosted by Adrian Vanderspuy, Nic van Aarde & Demetri Walters MW Tucked away in a small corner of Stellenbosch, Adrian and Vanessa Vanderspuy are the proud owners of Oldenburg Vineyards, located in the Banghoek Valley. Considered as some of the finest terroir in South Africa, Adrian’s grandmother Dorothy Vanrenen lived at Oldenburg, and in the 1960’s Dorothy and her husband planted their first vineyard. The grapes were sold to a local co-op and never vinified, and in 2002 Adrian commissioned a study to assess the potential for premium quality wines to be made. In 2003, The Vanderspuy’s purchased the farm and four years later the first vintages were produced. Live from the Vines: Château Angélus
Hosted by Jane Anson & Stéphanie de Boüard-Rivoal Château Angélus has been owned by the Boüard de Laforest family since 1782 and takes its name from the Angélus bells from three different churches that are audible from the vineyards. Less than a kilometre from the famous Saint-Emilion bell tower, situated on the much-vaunted south-facing “foot of the hill”, Angélus has been the life work of eight generations of the Boüard de Laforest family. We speak with Stéphanie de Boüard-Rivoal, the third woman to preside over the fortunes of Château Angélus. Live From the Vines: Weingut Dr. Loosen
Hosted by Richard Bampfield MW, Ernst Loosen & Marie Charlotte Never mind mere Riesling royalty, Dr. Loosen has been a touchstone for the fine wine church for over 200 years; its precipitous Mosel vineyards being the birthplace of unforgettable, legendary wines. Incumbent guardian Ernst Loosen discusses his family’s legacy and how his past study of Roman archaeology is echoed in his fascination with historical winemaking (he owns the oldest existing Roman press). This exceptional Live from the Vines is elevated even further by a portfolio of Loosen releases which is available to digital members as a tasting kit and features a trio of iconic Würzgarten Rieslings, including a Spätlese from 1997. 2019 Dr. Loosen Gracher Himmelreich Riesling trocken GG 2019 Dr. Loosen Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling trocken GG 2019 Dr. Loosen Erdener Treppchen Riesling trocken GG 2015 Dr. Loosen Erdener Prälat Riesling trocken GG RESERVE 2020 Dr. Loosen Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Kabinett 1997 Dr. Loosen Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling SpätleseRead more -

Live From the Vines: El Porvenir
Hosted by Amanda Barnes & Lucía Romero Marcuzzi South American wine expert Amanda Barnes finds herself in Salta’s Cafayate Valley in Argentina. Here she meets Lucía Romero Marcuzzi, manging director of the family owned El Porvenir which is increasingly namechecked as a source of top-flight Argentinian wine and whose sun-drenched vineyards are planted at 1650-1900m. Romero Marcuzzi discusses El Porvenir’s journey which began with a rundown winery and similarly weary parcels of old-vine Tannat and Torrontés. These two Argentinian staples remain at the heart of El Porvenir today, and both feature in a line-up of wines available to digital members a tasting kit and which reaches a crescendo with the appropriately titled, El Porvenir Icon.
