Let us introduce you to Elisabetta Geppetti. Although Le Pupille - situated in Maremma Toscana - has been in the hands of the Geppetti family since the late 19th century, it wasn’t until the 1960s that wine became its core mission. Elisabetta’s arrival in 1985 saw the shackles truly come off, her tour de force nature exemplified by becoming president of the Morellino di Scansano consorzio in 1992, the first women in Italy to hold such a position. Today lauded as one of the Tuscan coast’s most vital estates, each year Fattoria Le Pupille releases a thrilling collection of wines, crystallised here by a masterclass featuring its barrel-fermented Petit Manseng, an unadulterated, emblematic Sangiovese, and Le Pupille’s flagship Bordeaux blend, Saffredi, known in some quarters as the Lafite of Tuscany and which was created in partnership with Giacomo Tachis, he of Sassicaia, Tignanello and Ornellaia.
