With that in mind, we are delighted to introduce an evening of caviar-and-wine pairing led by Club supplier Petrossian Caviar and our Head Sommelier Federico Moccia. Family-owned Petrossian has been a French institution since opening its first boutique in Paris in 1920, specialising in the selection and ageing of caviar, fish roe and the smoking of fish. We’re thrilled to be joined by one of its expert team for this rather special tasting of a range of different caviars, each matched with a wine selected by Head Somm Fede. The wines will span such classics as Champagne, Chablis and Sherry, as well as more recherché cuvées from Santorini and Sonoma. Among the caviars we will sample will be: Daurenki® Tsar Impérial™: a caviar featuring large, golden eggs with firm texture and mild yet persistent flavours of nuts and butter. Ossetra Tsar Impérial™: dark amber to golden in colour, with a firm and sensual texture, selected for complexity of flavour and exceptional balance. The Baeri Baïka® Tsar Impérial™: briny, complex and rich, with a very pure flavour, its mineral dominance bringing a sensation of coolness and a harmonious balance of fruit and seafood. Persicus: Petrossian’s unique caviar, derived from a historic, lesser-known species, the Acipenser persicus. This rare caviar presents a firm yet melting texture and intense shine, characterised by its exquisite creaminess and freshness. Beluga Tsar Impérial™: The rarest, largest and the most precious caviar, with pearly-grey, large eggs, a delicate texture and optimum balance of buttery, hazelnut-tinged flavour on an extremely long finish. Join us for what promises to be a hugely enjoyable summer evening of indulgent and instructive tasting… The full list of caviars and wines: Daurenki Tsar Imperial Doyard, 1er Cru, Cuvée Vendémiaire, Blanc De Blancs, Champagne, France 2020 Chablis, 1er Cru, Vaucoupin, Gilbert Picq et Ses Fils Ossetra Tsar Imperial Fino, Inocente, AR Valdespino, Andalucia, Spain Baika Tsar Imperial 2021 Riesling Trocken, Alte Reben, Herrenberg, Maximin Grünhaus, Mosel, Germany Persicus Tsar Imperial 2021 Aidani, Gravalas, Santorini, Greece Beluga Tsar Imperial 2021 Chardonnay, Peay Vineyards, West Sonoma Coast, CaliforniaWednesday 30th July St James’s Room 18:30 - Welcome reception 19:00 - Masterclass starts 20:30 - Masterclass endsPlease note that once your order is placed, your ticket status will display as “processing” until after the event, when your member account is then charged. Jewels of the Northern Rhône with Matt Walls – Wednesday 30th November
£190.00Join Decanter contributing editor Matt Walls for his second tour of the Rhône here at 67 Pall Mall, this time focusing on the north of the region. He has selected 8 wines, one from each of its 8 appellations, to illustrate his talk and compare the different styles that come from these dramatic granitic slopes. Walls has recently returned to the UK after spending 2 years living near Avignon with his family to research his latest book, Wines of the Rhône, which was published last year as part of the Classic Wine Library series to considerable acclaim. He has developed a comprehensive knowledge of the region after having visited all the 50+ appellations of the Rhône, and he is panel chair for the Rhône at the Decanter World Wine Awards. We’ll be opening bottles by established greats such as Domaine Jean-Paul Jamet, Domaine Jean-Louis Chave and Château-Grillet, and also trying some less well known but brilliant estates such as Dard & Ribo, Domaine Franck Balthazar and Domaine de Gouye. Join us for what promises to be an entertaining and delicious evening with one of the few global experts in Rhône wines, that will leave you with a clearer picture of what makes each of these 8 Northern Rhône appellations so unique. A Journey Through Whisky with Sir Colin Hampden White and Simon Aron | Tuesday 9th November
£100.00Join us in the St. James’s Room for a drop of the water of life on Tuesday 9th November, where internationally renowned judge and whisky aficionado Sir Colin Hampden-White and founder of Cask Trade, Simon Aron, will present four exceptional varieties of cask strength whisky, and one rum. This informative tasting will take you on a journey through the appreciation of the art of whisky making, different regions and flavours, the uniqueness of the single cask, and the inimitable finish of an excellent dram straight from the cask. We will taste some of Cask Trade’s favourite independent bottlers, Lady of the Glen, Infrequent Flyers, The Golden Cask, and Mey Selections. Other drams included are the classic Speyside whisky, Glen Moray, with a light and honeyed flavour profile. The Infrequent Flyers 14YO Chinquapin Oak Barrel will also be tasted, an unusual and stand-out whisky from Royal Brackla, one of the few distilleries to have a royal warrant. Our final whisky is the Orkney Islands Malt, from a secret distillery located on the Isles of Orkney, and known for its robust flavour profile and fragrant notes of spice, heather, honey & light peat. Last but not least, the Orkney Islands Malt is another famed and much-adored whisky by the team here at Cask Trade. This particular bottling is matured in a First Fill Sherry Butt which we think suits the Orkney flavour profile superbly. The whisky is from a secret distillery located on the Isles of Orkney, known for its robust flavour profile with fragrant notes of spice, heather, honey & light peat smoke. There are only 2 distilleries to choose from; Highland Park and Scapa, so we will leave it to our Members to guess! In recent years, single cask rum has been favoured by many a whisky connoisseur, so an introduction to this ‘malternative’ will round off the tasting. Spirits to be tasted: Whisky Lady Glen 12 YO – Distilled at Glen Moray Distillery, First-fill Ex-Bourbon Barrel, 57.1% ABV, Distilled: 01/07/08, Bottled: 14/01/21, Cask no: 5586, Bottle no: 102/214. Infrequent Flyers 14 YO – Distilled at Royal Brackla Distillery, Chinquapin Oak Barrel, 57.8% ABV, Distilled: 2006, Cask no: 1803, Bottle no: 41/274. Six-wine dinner with Bordeaux second growth Château Montrose – Tuesday 25th November
£245.00If any Bordeaux château has been making waves over the last 15 years, it is surely Château Montrose. The St-Estèphe second growth, set on a gravelly knoll close to the Gironde estuary, was always renowned for producing some of the longest-lived wines in the Médoc. But under the ownership of the Bouygues family, it has reached new heights, now acclaimed for crafting wines of charm and elegance as well as structure and power.Read moreFounded in 1815 and achieving 2ème Cru Classé status in the 1855 classification, Montrose joined the extensive business portfolio of Martin and Olivier Bouygues in 2006. Since then, a committed new duo has been leading the estates: Charlotte Bouygues, President of the Eutopia Estates group, and Pierre Graffeuille, Managing Director. Together, they are implementing an ambitious winegrowing approach aimed at producing terroir-driven wines with a commitment to sustainable excellence.
Today, with the refinements complete and a fresh, young team in place, Montrose is firing on all cylinders, and fully living up to its vaunted status. We are delighted, then, to welcome Romain Bellone, Deputy Commercial Director, to the Club to talk us through the next stage of the evolution over a three-course, six-wine paired dinner, with wines going back to the landmark vintage of 2000.

New-wave Spain with Bodegas Mauro – Tuesday 16th September
£95.00 – £110.00Price range: £95.00 through £110.00Few wineries encapsulate the concept of new-wave Spain in quite as dynamic fashion as Bodegas Mauro. Founded in 1980 by Mariano García, former head winemaker at Vega Sicilia, the estate sits in Valladolid, in the heart of Castile and León. Its vineyards lie just outside the boundary of Ribera del Duero, however, and Garcia purposely chose not to seek inclusion in the famous DO – the freedom allowing him to blend Tempranillo with small portions of Syrah and other varieties not permitted under DO rules. Today the Mauro vineyards span around 80 hectares of mostly Tempranillo and Syrah, along with some Cabernet Sauvignon and Godello, all cultivated at resolutely low yields and vinified plot-by-plot with native yeasts in a mixture of French and American oak. While geographically in the Duero Valley and stylistically close to high-end Ribera and Toro, the wines are officially classified as Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y León. The range moves from the elegant flagship wine Mauro, to the more structured, ageworthy Mauro VS (Vendimia Seleccionada), sourced from specific parcels. Terreus, meanwhile, is a powerful, expressive single-vineyard cuvée, while the Mauro Godello offers an ofbeat, nuanced rendering of what is an increasingly in-vogue Spanish white. Mariano’s sons Albert and Eduardo now oversee the wines with similar energy and drive to their father – and we are delighted to welcome Alberto Garcia to the Club for an evening tasting Mauro’s finest. Bone-dry, racy and thrilling. Riesling in the 21st Century with Anne Krebiehl MW – Monday 13th March
£80.00There is so much to say about Riesling, and all this world ever does is talk about residual sugar. So, we have decided to talk only about bone-dry Riesling and dispense with the sweetness discussion altogether, since there are far more interesting things to talk about, such as its incredible ability to reflect site, its international incarnations across climatic zones, its expressions on different soils and its evolution – is it TDN or not? (We are talking about a compound that creates that tell-tale petrol/kerosene character). French Alps – Beyond the Ski Slopes Masterclass with Wink Lorch – Thursday 23rd February
£70.00We are thrilled to welcome Wink Lorch back to the Club for what promises to be another exploration of the unknown. Author of Wines of the French Alps: Savoie, Bugey and Beyond, Wink is a wine writer, educator and skier who has been a fan of wines born close to the slopes for decades. She will take Members on a deep dive into these wines which emerge from the rocks beneath the ski runs, often made from ancient, indigenous varieties. A new generation of winegrowers are ensuring that these grapes and the wines made from them are at last being properly valued. Gone are the thin, acidic wines once endured in the après-ski bars of yesteryear. In their stead, we now have myriad styles of wine which always show a touch of mountain freshness, but with added depth, complexity and originality. Members will discover three whites and three reds from different grapes and areas, bookended by a brace of Alpine sparklers, all underlining the quality to be found today in wines from the French Alps. An essential ticket for the curious connoisseur, Wink will also have her books available to purchase on the evening. The changing face of Cabernet with Château Lascombes and Casa Real – Thursday 25th June
£75.00 – £90.00Price range: £75.00 through £90.00Select options This product has multiple variants. The options may be chosen on the product pageHere at 67, we’re constantly learning. And while no such commitment is required of Members, we tend to think most of you relish delving deeper into the stories behind what’s in your glass. So when Bordeaux’s Château Lascombes and Chile’s Santa Rita came to us with the idea of a joint event, we were keen to explore ways to make it more than a simple comparative exercise.
The result is a tasting exploring how wineries reliant on Cabernet Sauvignon are adapting to shifting conditions in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. Through multiple vintages, we’'ll examine stylistic evolution, regional expression and the impact of climate change on structure, balance and longevity. And enjoy some stellar wines along the way… Viña Santa Rita is one of Chile's oldest and most reputed names, best known for its flagship wine, Casa Real. Arguably Chile’s first ‘icon’ wine, Casa Real comes from a spot in the foothills of the Andes where vines were first planted in the mid-1600s, and where Cabernet Sauvignon was the primary variety by the time Santa Rita was founded in 1880. A century later, after decades of field analyses, it identified the precise block that yields the wine’s stellar reputation. Bordeaux second growth Château Lascombes has long been known for wines that marry Margaux’s signature perfume and elegance with a comparatively generous style. Since the estate was acquired by the US-based Lawrence family in 2022, it has sought to balance that power with greater freshness, precision and terroir expression. With critics praising the increased refinement of recent vintages, Lascombes is widely viewed as one of Bordeaux’s most interesting ‘watch this space’ estates. We’re thrilled to be joined by Sebastián Labbé, head winemaker of Viña Santa Rita, and Axel Heinz, CEO of Château Lascombes, for an event chaired by industry consultant – and 67 Member – Richard Bampfield MW. Sebastián studied viticulture and oenology in New Zealand, making wine both there and in Australia before returning to Chile in 2005 and joining Viña Santa Rita. After 12 years as head winemaker at its Viña Carmen he took over the group’s premium wines, headed by Casa Real. Having studied winemaking and started his career in Bordeaux, Axel Heinz made his reputation over an 18-year stint as winemaker of the famed SuperTuscans Ornellaia and Masseto. He returned to Bordeaux in 2023 to lead the long-term transformation of Lascombes. Both will introduce expressions from cooler and warmer vintages, those impacted by frost and drought, current releases and more mature examples, to illustrate the interplay between climate, terroir and time. Thanks to the generosity of both producers, we expect a keen response to this rare opportunity to gain insight into the evolving narrative of Cabernet Sauvignon at a global level. Early booking is recommended. Cool-climate California Chardonnay & Pinot Noir with winemaker Jeff Pisoni – Friday 1st May
£95.00 – £110.00Price range: £95.00 through £110.00Select options This product has multiple variants. The options may be chosen on the product pageWhen, in 1982, Gary Pisoni decided to extend his family’s farming activity into winemaking, planting vines on the craggy hillsides of the Santa Lucia Highlands, he was labelled something of a maverick. Indeed some locals chose to employ more colourful language…
Today, through his sons Jeff and Mark, Pisoni is one of Calfornia’s most acclaimed producers of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The Santa Lucia Highlands AVA is a 12-mile long, terraced region in Monterey County and, at 1,300 feet above sea level, Pisoni’s is the highest vineyard in the appellation. Here, grape-growing is defined by the long ripening season, the result of morning sun cooled by afternoon fog and breezes from the Pacific, with harvests often six weeks later than in other parts of the state. Pisoni makes a range of small-lot wines fermented on native yeasts, aged in barrel and bottled unfiltered and unfined. The result is a range of arrestingly pure, focused wines. As well as an Estate Pinot and Chardonnay, plus a second label, Lucia, single-vineyard wines come from the Soberanes Vineyard (Chardonnay), a partnership with local grower Gary Franscioni (Pinot Noir), and the small, high-altitude Susan’s Hill vineyard (Syrah). We’re delighted to welcome winemaker Jeff Pisoni to the Club for a relaxed Friday evening, and invite Members to join him to explore his wines and one of California’s most bijou regions. The art of globemaking – Wednesday 9th April
£65.00Read moreMembers have expressed an interest in seeing more events with a focus on pursuits other than wine, but that also showcase craftsmanship and culture. We are delighted, then, to announce another in the series, via a London craftsman who makes an art of terroir.
Join us on Wednesday 9th April for a fascinating masterclass with Peter Bellerby, founder of Bellerby & Co. Globemakers, the world’s only truly bespoke maker of globes. Peter’s journey began when he set out to find the perfect globe for his father’s 80th birthday. Unable to find anything suitable, he decided to create one himself - an endeavour that led him to rediscover and master this intricate, time-honoured craft. Today, his London-based team of artisans produces exquisite terrestrial, celestial and planetary globes for collectors around the world, while Peter recently published his first book, The Globemakers, with Bloomsbury. Join us for an evening of insight into the art of globemaking, followed by a lively Q&A in a rare opportunity to hear from a master of his craft. Champagne Castelnau Masterclass With Carine Bailleul – Thursday 10th November
£95.00Champagne Castelnau is located in the heart of Reims and represents the very essence of Champagne. It has 900ha of vineyards across 155 crus, creating a unique grape growers’ collective and the production of outstanding wine. Chef de Caves, Carine Bailleul, crafts Castelnau’s stylish cuvées which are characterised by a high percentage of Chardonnay as well as extensive lees ageing: the flagship Brut Réserve NV spends at least five years on the lees and vintages are typically aged for at least 12 years before release. During this effervescent tasting, Carine will treat us to an outstanding clutch of both current and library releases, including Collection Œnothèque. Only made in the finest of vintages and exclusively in magnum, Collection Œnothèque preserves the continuity of the House style from one generation to the next and shows what great winemakers can do with excellent fruit. The evening culminates with Castelnau’s prestige cuvée Hors Catégorie. Meaning ‘beyond categorisation’, Hors Catégorie pays homage to the toughest mountain stages of the Tour de France, of which Castelnau is a long-standing partner. Marked by barrel ageing and bottling at low pressure to give a creamy mousse, the scarcity of this cuvée is fast making it a collector’s item, for cycling and Champagne enthusiasts alike. We hope to see you there, or, as they say on the Tour, Allez! Allez! Allez! The wines we will be tasting: NV Champagne Castelnau Brut Réserve 2007 Champagne Castelnau Blanc de Blancs 2005 Champagne Castelnau Blanc de Blancs 2006 Champagne Castelnau Vintage 2002 Champagne Castelnau Œnothèque en magnum NV Champagne Castelnau Hors Categorie Thursday 10th November St. James’s Room 18:30 – NV Champagne Castelnau Brut Rosé on arrival 19:00 – Masterclass begins 20:30 – Masterclass endsRead morePlease note, tickets are refundable for cancellations up to 48 hours before the event.
