Live From the Vines: Weingut Joh. Jos. Prüm
Hosted by Richard Bampfield MW, Katharina Prüm & Mihailo Martinovic Over 100 vintages on the clock yet less than a handful of careful (family) owners, J. J. (Joh. Jos.) Prüm is an object lesson in the boons of succession and continuity. To state that J. J. Prüm creates some of the world’s most exquisite and sought-after Rieslings is not throwaway applause, but an argument borne out by decades of critical glory, not to mention the going price for its wines, most notably those from the Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard. This renowned site features prominently in the line-up of wines enjoyed here by Richard Bampfield MW and J. J. Prüm’s owner Katherine Prüm (and available as a tasting kit to digital members), as they discuss her antecedents, the family’s dedication to Riesling, and Prüm’s next steps. Live From the Vines: Savage Wines
Hosted by Duncan Savage Duncan Savage’s Sauvignon sleight of hand puts him on a whole other level with the grape according to wine legend and fellow South African, Eben Sadie. Seeing as Savage worked under the peerless Didier Daganeau in the Loire Valley and was once winemaker at Cape Point Vineyards - whose Sauvignons and Sémillons under his watch hoovered up awards – his breeding is certainly impeccable. Yet there are many more strings to his bow, and here he introduces us to the full repertoire from his function-over-form urban winery, from which comes some of South Africa’s hottest tickets including Cinsault, Syrah and blends of both hues. Here she meets Lucía Romero Marcuzzi, manging director of the family owned El Porvenir which is increasingly namechecked as a source of top-flight Argentinian wine and whose sun-drenched vineyards are planted at 1650-1900m. Deep Dive Bordeaux: Saint-Julien
Hosted by Jane Anson Continuing her exploration of Bordeaux’s headline appellations, we find Jane Anson, author of Inside Bordeaux, among the vines of Saint-Julien. Through the lens of the legendary 2010 vintage, Anson reflects on the history, soil, location and most celebrated names of Saint-Julien, concluding with her selection of vintage standouts which are available as a tasting kit to digital members. The wines that we will taste: Château Gloria, Saint Julien, 2010 Château Lagrange, Saint-Julien 2010 Château Talbot, Quatrième Grand Cru Classe, Saint-Julien 2010 Château Beychevelle, Quatrième Grand Cru Classe, Saint-Julien 2010 Château Langoa-Barton, Troisième Grand Cru Classe, Saint-Julien 2010 Château Leoville Poyferre, Saint-Julien 2010Read more -

Live From the Vines: Keermont
Hosted by Cathy van Zyl MW & Alex Starey Since its 2003 inception, Keermont has been guided by having the highest regard for the integrity and delicate nature of its surrounding land; it just so happens to have made spectacular wines along the way. Vines are often squeezed into nooks and crannies on its patch of the Blaauwklippen Valley, where Keermont has weeded out alien plant species, nurtured the indigenous, and planted just under 30ha of vineyards, setting aside a further 100ha solely for conservation. Master of Wine Cathy van Zyl joins winemaker Alex Starey to discuss Keermont’s holistic approach and sample a selection of its exalted wines which are available as a tasting kit to digital members.
