Harlan – a California “First Growth” from the hills of Oakville

Our sommelier team had the privilege of tasting a selection of wines from this cult Napa Valley winery. The team sipped their way through four different vintages from 1994 to 2015, whilst listening to the gripping stories of Don Weaver, the Estate Director.

It was a trip to Bordeaux and Burgundy with Robert Mondavi that inspired Bill Harlan to create his vision of a First Growth California winery, and it took only a few years before Bill created Harlan Estate in 1984. On the western hills of Oakville, Napa Valley, Harlan winery produces what many consider to be some of the finest Cabernet blends in the world.
