The Magic of Montrachet – 1988 Joseph Drouhin

This exceptional white wine was opened at the Club and enjoyed with some brilliant dishes from our Clubroom menu this afternoon – time very well spent. Joseph Drouhin’s ethos is based around their ‘dedication to the diversity of Burgundy’ and this expression is no exception with its terroir-driven characters.

Our sommeliers were over the moon that this bottle faced the corkscrew this afternoon. The complex nose of the wine pairs with layers of classic Chardonnay aromas and has impressive notes of toffee and caramel on the palate. It is rich but precise, generous but focused, fine and poised – the epitome of white wine.
