WSET Level 1 Award in Wines – One-day course in the St. James’s Room with the Wine Training School
The WSET Level 1 course is a beginner level qualification, with no previous wine knowledge required. Expect a one-day course which will equip you with the basic wine knowledge you need to get started on your route to wine mastery.
Members will taste 9 high-quality wine samples during the day under the tutelage of Nelson Pari. The duration of the entire course is 8 hours, starting at 10am, finishing at 6pm.
As soon as you book your Level 1 course, you will receive your book within five working days. It’s extremely important that you book well in advance in order to have enough time to study before the start of the course. You need to allocate a minimum of 1 hour of self-study before the start of the course. Please be aware that the one-day course format is intense.
For the convenience of our Members, we will pause at 1pm for a light lunch, served directly in the St. James’s Room, glass of wine included.
To gain this qualification, students will need to pass a multiple-choice paper of 30 questions. The exam will take place at the end of the day of the WSET level 1 course and it will last for 45 minutes. A mark of 70% is required to pass.
All students who pass will receive a certificate and a lapel pin.
WSET courses and examination dates are fixed to the course onto which you book and any transfer to an alternative date will incur an administration fee of £100.00 plus vat per student. All transfer requests must be made by email to [email protected] at least 14 days before the original examination date. Cancellations. There is a no refund policy on cancellations once booked.
To celebrate a hard day’s study, Members will have the opportunity to share a glass with Nelson and their fellow students in the St. James’s Room after their exam is finished. Further celebration in the Clubroom is encouraged…
