Six wines with Pascal Chatonnet – Thursday 3rd April
Join us for a fascinating masterclass with Pascal that will delve into the unique characteristics of each of these iconic wines from six emblematic regions. Discover the importance of preserving the distinct terroir of each wine, as well as the undeniably important role of heritage within each of these family-owned estates.
Pascal Chatonnet, born in 1964, is a renowned Bordeaux oenologist, combining family heritage, technical innovation, and international experience.
After studying viticulture and oenology and earning two doctorates, he made significant contributions to understanding the interactions between wine and barrel wood. In the 1990s, he founded the EXCELL laboratory, specialising in fine wine analysis, and began his consulting career, collaborating with prestigious estates worldwide.
Thanks to his scientific expertise, practical experience as a winemaker in Bordeaux, and various international ventures, Pascal Chatonnet has a multifaceted profile that he applies daily—particularly in the family vineyards, which he has managed since 2008. This approach is reflected in the agro-synergistic methods he has implemented since 2019 on the family estate, which he now runs alongside his daughter, Clarisse, representing the third generation in the tradition of great vintners families.
