Riesling: from one bank to the other with Hannah Fiegenschuh – Thursday 10th April
Join us for an exceptional masterclass dedicated to Riesling, led by expert Hannah Fiegenschuh.
Originally from Koblenz and based in Bordeaux since 2008, Hannah is a passionate senior consultant winemaker, working at Derenoncourt Vignerons Consultants, who is a strong advocate for sustainable viticulture and a champion of biodiversity.
Hannah has selected a carefully curated range of wines to illustrate the remarkable richness and diversity of the inimitable Riesling variety. Each glass unveils the unique story of the Rheingau, where a complex myriad of soil, exposure and altitude combine to create a fascinating range of wines spanning from refined minerality to the more powerful, expressive Premier and Grand Crus.
Throughout the tasting, Hannah will share her expertise and experience – exploring the evolution of wine consumption and helping us understand the importance of both the winemakers and their craft. She will also delve into the historic role of the Rheingau, an iconic Riesling region where monastic influences shaped viticulture as early as the Middle Ages, giving rise to classifications still in use today.
Join us for this fabulous tasting and learn how the region’s unique climate and soil diversity influence the structure and aromatic profile of the wines, and why Riesling continues to captivate both enthusiasts and experts alike.
