Le Dôme Bleu Silk Scarf
Le Dôme Bleu, the first 67 Pall Mall silk scarf, pays homage to the spectacular blue dome at the heart of the Bordeaux Club. A limited edition, it is available exclusively to Members to celebrate 67 Pall Mall Bordeaux’s debut.
Made in collaboration with Maison Petrusse, whose workshops sit at Château Mauriac in Langon, the scarf is deeply rooted in the story of 21 Cours de l’Intendance. Its inspiration draws entirely from the building itself – the cupola (or ‘dôme’), its remarkable survival, the precise shade of blue, and the vine leaves that speak of the region at our doorstep.
Behind the piece
he cupola of 21 Cours de l’Intendance is as much a survivor as it is a beautiful architectural detail. In 1972, the bank that occupied the building sought to have it demolished – a decision the Architect of Historic Monuments refused, and the Mayor, siding with heritage, overturned. Today, half a century on, it presides over 67 Pall Mall Bordeaux.
Its colour took longer to find than anyone had anticipated. CEO and Founder Grant Ashton had carried in his memory for years the image of an Italian chapel – a cupola washed in a particular shade of blue, soft and cloudy, almost weightless. That was the blue he wanted, and after dozens of trials, the precise shade was finally found.
What emerged was a colour mixed from three pigments into a glaze, entrusted to a single artisan to apply across the entire Bordeaux Club’s cupola.
The 100% silk twill scarf grew from that blue. Graphic and joyful in character, it frames the cupola in vine leaves – a nod to the vineyards that surround us and the viticultural identity that defines everything we do.
We hope it is worn often and kept always – a small, lasting piece of the Bordeaux Club’s beginnings.
