Day 1: Sunday 31st August – Arrival & Franschhoek – Setting the SA Wine Scene

VIP meet and greet followed by private chauffeur transfer to the hotel

Afternoon to relax
17:00 Informal tasting with Duncan Savage of Savage Wines and Pieter Walser of Blankbottle Wines
18:30 An introduction from Decanter Hall of Famer Rosa Kruger on 400 years of Cape winemaking
19:15 Dinner with Duncan, Pieter and their wines – a casual evening to set the scene

Day 2: Monday 1st September – Franschhoek – Semillon & Cabernet Franc
09:30 Depart after breakfast
10:00 L’Ormarins Motor Museum & Cellar Tour
13:00 Lunch at Graham Beck Manor House
15:00 Rest at the hotel
17:30 Depart for Boekenhoutskloof and dinner hosted by winery director Marc Kent, catered by table 7

Day 3: Tuesday 2nd September – Stellenbosch – Cabernet Sauvignon & Chenin Blanc
09:30 Depart after breakfast
10:00 Combined tasting of Alheit and Kaapzicht at Kaapzicht vineyard co-hosted by winemakers Danie Steytler, Kaapzicht, and Chris Alheit, Alheit
13:00 Lunch at Good to Gather hosted by Tom Webb and Butch Alheit
19:00 Dinner at Kaapzicht, with Danie Steytler and Chirs Alheit. Guests will be treated to a traditional braai (South African barbeque)

Day 4: Wednesday 3rd September – Swartland – Syrah & Chenin Blanc
09:30 Depart after breakfast
10:30 Tasting at Porcelainberg & Mullineux
1300 Lunch with Adi Badenhorst at his Kalmoesfontein estate, along with Eben Sadie and Andrea and Chris Mullineux
17:00 Visit to Eben Sadie’s vineyards
19:30 Dinner at Kalmoesfontein. This will be an intimate dinner with Adi Badenhorst and his family and fellow winemakers

Day 5: Thursday 4th September – Hemel-en-Aarde – Chardonnay & Pinot Noir
09:30 Depart by helicopter for a scenic flight over Cape Point to Hannes Storm
10:30 Visit Storm Wines with Hannes Storm
12:00 Lunch at Newton Johnson, with co-hosts Bevan Johnson and Peter-Allan Finlayson of Crystallum
16:00 Visit Crystallum with Peter-Allan
17:00 Scenic drive back to the hotel
19:30 Dinner hosted by Carolyn Martin from Creation Wines

Day 6: Friday 5th September – Cape Town – The Grand Finale
Morning at leisure, no set itinerary
11:00 Depart for Cape Town
12:30 Arrive at Cellars-Hohenort Hotel & Spa
Free afternoon to relax
17:30 Bubbly and canapés
18:00 Blind tasting hosted by the winemakers
20:00: Black-tie Gala Dinner featuring a blind tasting inspired by the “Judgment of Paris” where we hope Members’ favourite wines will compete against South Africa’s finest vintages. It will be a night of fun and sophistication, with an outstanding pairing menu.

Day 7: Saturday 6th September – Cape Town – Departure Day
Leisurely day in Cape Town with no fixed schedule.
Depart: Option to return or continue to Sabi Sands or Zimbabwe
