We hope Members will join us for a magical evening where we travel to the heart and soul of wine, and experience, arguably, its purest expression.
The Francs de Pied Association consists of a growing circle of vignerons who work with ungrafted vineyards planted to native varieties. The list includes some of the world’s most coveted winemakers including Andrea Polidoro, Egon Müller and Loïc Pasquet, the association’s president and the man behind the world’s most expensive wine, Liber Pater.
The association’s goal is to protect and transmit the age-old know-how of growing indigenous varieties in ungrafted vineyards, without rootstocks to protect them from phylloxera, on the terroirs where they were born. By preserving the old, ungrafted vines of these grape varieties, or by replanting these indigenous varieties without grafting, Francs de Pied says it is the taste of wine in its diversity and authenticity that is being preserved.
We look forward to Members joining us for this singular event which features wines from four of the association’s wineries – Bodega Numanthia, Ousyra, La Tour Melas and Liber Pater – and will be co-hosted by key figures from each, including Loïc Pasquet himself.
