The Expert Series: Austria – Sweet Wines
Hosted by Stefan Neumann MS & Ronan Sayburn MS
Land-locked it may be, but Austria’s manifold wine regions are shaped by climatic influences which sweep in from all points of the compass. Meaning? Austria makes wines that run the gamut of styles, from finely beaded fizz through to some of the world’s leading stickies.
Dedicated to the latter, Ronan Sayburn MS and Stefan Neumann MS continue their Austrian tour, hitting the heights of indulgence and celebrating the country’s dessert wines.
Our pair of Master Sommeliers have cherry-picked a selection which shows off the diversity of Austria’s sweets, including an exquisite ice wine produced using grapes which are left until winter to freeze on the vine.
