Saint-Emilion Grands Crus Walkaround Tasting – Wednesday 29th January
While we know that many Members enjoy in-depth tastings of individual properties, guided by the winemaker themselves, we are equally aware that others enjoy a broader, more relaxed approach. Specifically, we have been asked for more walkaround tastings, where Members can come and go as they please, with the freedom to cherry-pick wines to taste at their own pace.
We are delighted, then, to welcome a selection of St Emilion Grands Crus to the Club to showcase the 2020 vintage in just such a format. On a relaxed Wednesday evening at the end of January, a total of 20 châteaux will each present their grand vin from this reputed vintage, alongside one other, older wine of their choosing.
The 2020 vintage was the third in an acclaimed Bordeaux triumvirate that saw a warm, early harvest of high quality and low yields. On first release, the wines of the Right Bank were generally seen as more consistent than those of the Left, with St-Emilion’s preponderance of Merlot making for rich, concentrated, dark-fruited wines that will undoubtedly benefit from time in cellar. Four years on from their first taste, this will be a wonderful opportunity to assess their evolution in bottle.
Each producer will be represented by the owner, winemaker or other representative, who will be on hand to provide as much insight and detail as Members might want. We hope to see you there.

Any cancellations within 5 days of the event are non-refundable unless 67 Pall Mall resells the ticket to another Member. This is only possible when the event is sold out and there is a waiting list.
