Continuing our quest to bring under-the-radar producers to our Members, we are delighted to welcome a pioneer of Piedmont, Marina Marcarino, to the St. James’s Room, where we will get to enjoy sumptuous wines and learn about her nature-based philosophy.
The Macarinos are steeped in wine production, although bottles were kept within the family until 1964 when, with commercial success beckoning, Renzo Marcarino shared with the wider world.
1982 represented another Punset milestone with Marina discovering organic farming, although it was a brutal introduction with the first vintage after conversion being entirely lost.
Not one to be easily discouraged, Marina persevered and is today considered a reference point for organic viticulture, along the way adding biodynamics to her methods and adhering to the agronomic philosophy of Manasobu Fukuoka, also known as ‘the agriculture of doing nothing’.
Please join us for an insightful evening with the exuberant and self-confessed hyperactive Marina, and taste the wines – including some stunning library vintages – which have made her one of Piedmont’s hottest tickets.
