Oldenburg Masterclass with Winemaker Nic Van Aarde – Thursday 22nd September
Situated in an elevated valley of outstanding beauty, Oldenburg Vineyards is surrounded by a spectacular mountain amphitheatre. At the heart of the farm lies Rondekop – their iconic, round hill which influences the vineyards planted on and around it, creating an extraordinary terroir.
Winemaker Nic van Aarde was born and bred in Paarl before studying Winemaking at Stellenbosch University. He travelled the world for 2 years after University doing vintages in Margaret River, Marlborough, St. Émilion and Sonoma. His first official job was at Mulderbosch as Assistant Winemaker before he took over the reins as Head Winemaker at Warwick Estate for 8 years. Nic brings a wealth of experience to Oldenburg, and over the last 4 years, has used his experience to craft the exceptional wines of Rondekop.
