Chester Osborn is a creative force of nature, and we are delighted to welcome this winemaking dynamo to the St. James’s Room for what is sure to be a very entertaining evening…
d’Arenberg was established in 1912 in McLaren Vale, South Australia – home to some of the oldest vines in Australia, dating as far back as 1850. Best known for Shiraz, McLaren Vale also excels in the production of ultra-premium Grenache and Cabernet.
Fourth-generation family member Chester grew up on the family property, and took the reins as chief winemaker in 1984. Today, he makes distinctive wines using traditional methods both in the vineyard and winery, producing over 70 wines from 30 different grape varieties.
The Amazing Sites project is a unique collection of 12 single-vineyard Shiraz and 3 single-vineyard Grenache wines from across McLaren Vale. Through the wines, Chester has sought to showcase the broad range of soils and micro-climates in the region, vinifying each wine in a similar manner to best preserve purity of fruit and regional character.
Join us for an electric evening spent with Chester, as he guides Members through six Shiraz and three Grenache wines from the 2013 vintage, the current release.
