Champagne Henri Giraud: Celebrating 400 Years of History with Cellarmaster Sébastien Le Golvet – Tuesday 15th July
Henri Giraud was once described by Robert Parker as ‘the greatest Champagne you’ve never heard of’. It’s fair to say most lovers of fizz have heard of it today. One of Champagne’s oldest and smallest family-run maisons, based in Aÿ since 1625, the Giraud-Hémart family cultivated grapes for generations before finally deciding to make wines under the family name, starting in 1990. In recent years, the house has become widely celebrated for its bold Pinot Noir-driven style, oak-fermentation in barrels from the Argonne Forest, and a sustainability-first philosophy that connects vineyard and forest terroir.
We are delighted to welcome Sébastien Le Golvet, Cellarmaster and Managing Director of the house, for an exclusive tasting and masterclass celebrating the house’s remarkable 400-year legacy – and offering the UK’s first preview of the much-anticipated Argonne 2017, a cuvée that represents the pinnacle of the Giraud philosophy: precision, elegance and a deep respect for terroir.
Under Sébastien’s leadership – blending precision engineering with deep winemaking expertise – the house has become a beacon of innovation and craftsmanship, known for expressive, full-bodied Champagnes made without stainless steel, pesticides or herbicides.
This intimate evening will offer a guided tasting of Henri Giraud’s signature cuvées, including:
