Be a winemaker for a day – Saturday 29th June
Who among us hasn’t dreamed of making their own wine – ideally from our very own Provençal vineyard, under the gentle Mediterranean sun. We can’t quite facilitate that (at least, not just yet) but we can provide the next best thing – blending your very own cuvée, in an actual winery, right here in London…
London Cru is an urban winery, based in Fulham, south-west London, and makes wines from both bought-in grapes, and – as of last year – its own West Sussex vineyard. And on Saturday 29th June, 67 Pall Mall will take over the winery, as London Cru’s winemaker, Alex Hurley, welcomes Members for the day, and pulls back the curtain on how wines are really made.
The morning session will focus on understanding the winemaking process, by way of an insight into the London Cru cellars and a history of winemaking in the UK. A two-course lunch will be taken at The Atlas gastropub, immediately opposite the winery, with a further chance to garner tips and insights from Alex – and to taste the London Cru wines.
The afternoon is where Members will get their hands dirty, via a practical session. By benchmarking key wine attributes and learning how sugar, acid, tannin and alcohol affects wine, Members will build the skills to approach wine like a winemaker. Finally, Members will experiment with blending, before using their newfound skills to create a bottle of their very own signature cuvée – which they will, of course, be able to take home to garner the feedback of their nearest and dearest.

Any cancellations within 48 hours of the event are non-refundable unless 67 Pall Mall resells the ticket to another Member. This is only possible when the event is sold out and there is a waiting list.
