2009 Pauillac vs. Pomerol
This is a rare opportunity to compare the power of Pauillac against the exuberance of Pomerol, Left Bank versus Right Bank, Cabernet versus Merlot, gravels versus clays.
There are several important differences between the left bank and the right bank, with variances in terroir, taste and ageing. However, are there similarities that wine lovers may not have been made aware of?
Jane Anson has selected five chateaux from each AOC to explore how these differences translate in the glass, with all wines from the celebrated 2009 vintage.
