Il Marroneto with Alessandro Mori

Il Marroneto was purchased in 1974 by Giuseppe Mori, Alessandro’s father, who planted the first vines, making the wine in two small rooms. In the years that followed, Il Marroneto began to evolve, and whilst Alessandro’s father and brother continued their careers as lawyers, Alessandro decided to continue to bring life to Il Marroneto and its Brunello, making this his life’s work.

Marroneto

The vineyards are situated on the northern slope of the hill, at about 350 metres, in the immediate vicinity of the walls of Montalcino.

Great attention is paid to the layout of the vines, with each vine having 3.6 meters available, allowing the Sangiovese plenty of space for good rooting. The management of the vineyard is based upon a traditional and minimalist philosophy, treating the vines with a bare minimum of intervention and avoiding intensive production.

“I am a winegrower, I see in the grape the end of my work and in the cellar I try to preserve this amazing gift of the soil as much as I can. I don’t want to be too invasive, trying not to bend to my will what mother nature gave me”. Alessandro Mori

It is a true pleasure to welcome the brilliant, charismatic and passionate Alessandro to the Club for a Masterclass of his fantastic wines.
