The Barrys of Clare Valley
Jim Barry Wines, named after the eponymous founding wine maker, is one of the stalwart wineries of the Clare Valley. In 1959, the late Jim Barry purchased land near the township of Clare, replanting much of it to vineyard. A highly influential figure on the Australian wine scene, he was a pioneer of Australian table wine. Graduating with a diploma in wine-making, he became the first qualified winemaker to work in the Clare Valley.
Over the last 50 years, the family has worked to establish a mosaic of vineyards across the Clare Valley which produce wines that are pure, bold and speak of the place in which they are crafted…
