Hippocrates’ remedy

We entirely agree with Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine, on his recommendation of using Greek wine as a remedy to treat the sick, with Asclepius, the God of Medicine also in agreement stating ‘the usefulness of wine is second only to the power of the Gods’. As such, we are very supportive of this fantastic wine region, and we would love to invite you to the Club for a Cretan walk-around tasting this coming Thursday.

With a history of winemaking stretching back 4,000 years, Crete’s mild winters and warm, dry summers make for perfect growing conditions and the isolation of the island results in a huge variety of indigenous grapes. The soil in Crete provides faultless terroir for the fruit, producing flavoursome wine that is today recognised on the international stage.

Join our Greek sommelier, Klearhos Kanellakis, for a first hand tour of the Cretan vineyards tasting over 20 wines…
