Cantine Dei – Vino Nobile di Montepulciano

In 1964 Alibrando Dei, a wine-growing enthusiast, recognised the potential of the area of Bossona. He swiftly purchased the first hectares and planted the first vines. The grapes were of incredible quality and  in 1985 (an exceptional vintage year) they decided to produce the first bottle of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Dei. At first the family rented an old winery in the historic town centre, and in 1989, they built their own winery in the heart of the vineyards.

Consistently highly rated, this 55 hectare vineyard averages 300m above sea level and is divided into four distinct areas: Martiena, Bossona, La Ciarliana and La Piaggia;  foremost of which “Bossona” forms the core of our tasting tonight.

We are delighted to welcome Federico Biondi of Cantine Dei to 67 Pall Mall to guide us through this masterclass tasting.
