Come fly with us…
The Blades

The Blades Aerobatic Team, which consists of former Red Arrow pilots and one national aerobatic champion, is renowned worldwide for flying precision close-formation aerobatics to the highest level. They are the only display team that are fully sanctioned by the Civil Aviation Authority to offer ‘fare-paying passengers’ the thrill of close formation aerobatic flights…
Founded in 2005 by two former RAF pilots, Chris Norton and Andy Offer, The Blades debuted their first display in 2006 with four aircraft and four pilots. The Blades subsequently received their Display Authority and, on 15th May 2006, 2Excel became a fully-fledged airline with the award of its Air Operator’s Certificate GB 2299 (abbreviated to AOC – not appellation d’origine contrôlée on this occasion…).
The grand idea was to be able to fly formation aerobatics with fare-paying passengers in a world-class formation aerobatic display team; something that is only legally permitted if the organisation is licensed to fly passengers, meaning the team must hold an AOC.
In April 2010, the team re-branded the aircraft for the RAF Association’s Wings Appeal, one of the three RAF charities. Since then, The Blades raised the RAF Association’s awareness, championed their cause and raised over a million pounds for both the Wings Appeal and for the veterans who fought our wars and to whom we are all indebted.
It is with great pleasure that I invite Members to one of the UK’s most spectacular aviation experiences, including two flights, a private display and a three-course lunch with fine wines to pair among many other excellent additions to the day.
We are very grateful to The Blades for including a special opportunity, unique for Members of the Club, to have an additional flight in the Tiger Moth plane – a light aircraft that in the late 1920s and 1930s was the most common civil aircraft flying in Britain.
Your boarding pass includes:
– A full welcome & briefing
– An introduction to the aircraft and the pilots
– Flight in a Extra 300LP high performance stunt aircraft
– A second flight in the Tiger Moth
– Helicopter flight
– All attire required for the day
The nourishment…
– Breakfast
– A 3-course lunch with wines to pair as chosen by our sommeliers
– Canapés prepared by The Blade’s chef & Champagne served during a private display to be enjoyed on the private balcony.
The Blades will also endeavour to provide each guest with a video of their flight.
