france masterclass

The nation of France stands out among all others as the home of exquisite cuisine and fine wine; from Bordeaux to Burgundy, the Loire Valley to the Rhône Valley and beyond, the vinous treasures of France are plentiful…

France is currently the world’s number one producer of wine by volume, with nearly every type of wine imaginable made in styles that vary from the very modern to the most traditional. For hundreds of years, France basked in the reputation of being the world’s greatest producer of wines and today, that reputation is being rivalled by many other wine-growing nations.

However, France still produces some of the greatest wines in the world with the greatest variety, and many offering excellent value for money even from the most famous wine producing areas.

Our sommelier, Emmanuel, who will be sitting his Master Sommelier exam in August, will be guiding Members through a Masterclass of this historical wine-producing country. Having worked with Jan Konetzki at the Royal Hospital Road with Gordon Ramsay, Emmanuel moved to Australia and worked with Franck Moreau MS for 3 years. He then decided to make his way back to Europe, and we are very lucky to welcome him to the team at the Club.
