South Africa

South Africa is widely regarded as the most exciting wine-producing country in the New World at present, thanks to a combination of dynamic, well-travelled young producers, old vines and the liberalisation of the industry that has occurred since 1994. With its wild variety of soil types and sub-regions, the Cape can produce almost any style of wine well, and often brilliantly. Additionally, South Africa offers outstanding value for money.

We’ve teamed up with Tim Atkin MW, considered the UK’s leading expert on South African wines and the author of an annual report on the country, to present a tasting of a dozen outstanding Cape classics, including the now sold out 2015 Kanonkop Paul Sauer, which received 100 points in his 2018 report.

The tasting will also include wines from Blank Bottle, Duncan Savage, Chris and Andrea Mullineux, Eben Sadie, Restless River, David and Nadia Sadie, Donovan Rall, Adi Badenhorst and Thorne and Daughters among others. This collection offers Members some of the best that the Cape has to offer, covering everything from Pinot Noir to Syrah, Semillon to Chenin Blanc.
