Wine tasting & what to look for

A Member mentioned to me the other day that he had several friends who would love to join the Club but felt that they didn’t know enough about wine yet to join a wine club, and that what they needed was more confidence in their wine skills.

Clearly, we believe that the best way to learn is by osmosis, and as such we are instituting a new ongoing series of Introductory Wine Sessions every Saturday, led by our sommeliers, to help bring prospective Members and maybe some of our newer Members a level of knowledge that will make them supremely confident around the subject!

The world of wine is vast, nuanced and can be overwhelming even for those whose jobs are to understand it. This is why we are determined to provide prospective and existing Members with the knowledge they need to start their ‘wine journey’.

These are not masterclasses, there will be no exams and are informal and free of charge. They are purely to help you get the best out of your Club and your overall enjoyment of wine.

Covering four main areas, we hope that Members and guests will benefit from the full series over consecutive weeks, though you would be equally welcome just to drop in to one or two sessions without attending them all.
