smith haut lafitte
Before the arrival of the Cathiard Family, Château Smith Haut Lafitte – though a Classified Growth of the Graves region – bore the nickname of Sleeping Beauty. Daniel and Florence Cathiard purchased the estate in 1990, and since then, the couple have invested and renovated the Château to regain its rightful leadership position.

Madame and Mr Cathiard’s outstanding efforts in the vineyard are apparent through how well the wines have been showing over the last 30 years; converting the vineyards to organic, upgrading the cellar facilities and adopting environmental protection schemes by recycling CO2 and water are just a handful of initiatives that ensure Smith Haut Lafitte produce a great crop year on year.
Additionally, the wines are of exceptional value as well as being true to their origin and terroir, and we are very privileged to welcome Daniel and Florence Cathiard to the Club to host an intimate Masterclass dinner of their exceptional wines. This is a rare opportunity to try some of the Cathiard’s favourite and most successful vintages among a small group of Members, with a specially curated and delectable menu to pair…
