“Sherry, the civilised drink.” W. Somerset Maugham
Steven Spurrier and the Académie du Vin Library team are pleased to invite Members of 67 Pall Mall to a very extensive walk-around sherry tasting to celebrate the publication of their third title, hosted by Ben Howkins and Steven Spurrier.

Sherry is produced in a variety of styles and, in the main, is produced using the Palomino grape, ranging from light versions similar to white table wines, to darker and heavier versions that have been allowed to oxidise as they age in barrel.
Ben Howkins has made wine his life. With Hugh Johnson OBE, he is co-founder of the Royal Tokaj Wine Company in Hungary, and can be credited with re-introducing this amazing dessert wine back to the UK for the first time since the Second World War.
It is a pleasure to welcome Ben to the Club to co-host this very special evening alongside Steven Spurrier, where some fantastic bottles will be opened for this walk-around tasting.
Books will be available to purchase on the evening…
