I AM CLEARLY VERY WEARISOME COMPANY …SUNDAY 30TH APRIL AT THE CLUB

…I know this because often, half way through a very nice Sunday lunch some of my dining partners get up and leave because they “have to get home for the dog”.

Being a cat person I have never quite understood that this was a “thing”, and I have always assumed that it was my lack of sparkling wit and repartee that was driving them away. Having enquired into this matter further it would seem that unlike Eric (my cat), man’s best friend is a little more demanding than my little moggie and that going home early to feed, water and walk the dog is important; lest my erstwhile guests return to a house that has been destroyed by Fido in their absence.

With this in mind, we have decided to have one Sunday a month where we invite Members to bring their dog(s) to the Club to enjoy an uninterrupted Sunday lunch with their canine companions…

Furthermore, we have enlisted the help of our good friends at Butternut Box; makers of fresh, home-cooked dog food, to ensure that as you tuck into your Sunday lunch your dog can sit at your feet enjoying the highest quality “human grade ingredients”, that have been formulated to ensure that your pooch has everything that they need to thrive.

Given our proximity to both Green Park and St James’s Park, how about a mid-morning walk on Sunday, followed by doggie lunch at the Club? Or if you would rather that we walked your dog for you, we will have a trained dog walker(s) on hand to take them for a good long walk around the parks before returning it to you after your lunch.

If demand for lunch outstrips our seating capacity we might extend this to a “Doggie Dinner”, if there are Members who would prefer a late afternoon walk followed by the Sunday roast menu in the evening…

….so now if you still slide away early I’ll know it’s not due to the dog and I’ll have to work on my repertoire of amusing stories…

A few points…
