Our first trip takes us to the heart of Tuscany, exploring the classic wines of Brunello di Montalcino. From private tastings at legendary estates to an intimate dinner with a Michelin-starred chef, this trip promises to unveil the magic of one of Italy’s most celebrated wine regions.
ACCOMMODATION

Your home for the extended weekend will be the Mastrojanni Relais, a supremely comfortable country retreat near Montalcino. Set amidst lush vineyards and breathtaking Tuscan landscapes, this 19th-century estate embodies the essence of Tuscan hospitality, where refined service and a deep respect for the land come together through seasonal, locally sourced cuisine.
ITINERARY
Day 1
Thursday 16th April 2026

– Meet your local host Filippo Magnani and a 67 Pall Mall London Sommelier at Pisa Airport before departing by private coach to the Brunello di Montalcino region.
– Begin your journey with a visit to a hilltop estate in southern Montalcino for a relaxed lunch at Collemattoni, a family-run winery known for its artisanal, small-batch Brunello wines.
– Continue to the legendary Biondi Santi Estate for a private visit and tasting at the birthplace of Brunello.
– Check in for three nights at Mastrojanni Relais, surrounded by vineyards and serene countryside views.
– Later, take a short visit to the cellar at Mastrojanni, followed by a Tuscan dinner at the Relais, paired with the estate’s wines.
Day 2
Friday 17th April 2026

– After breakfast, depart for a visit to Poggio di Sotto one of Montalcino’s most acclaimed names, for a private tasting.
– Continue to Le Potazzine Estate, a family-run property in the heart of the region, for a relaxed light lunch.
– Return to the Relais for a brief afternoon rest before heading to the charming village of Montalcino.
– Experience the essence of Tuscan life with a private dinner in the village, featuring wines from two local producers.
Day 3
Saturday 18th April 2026

– Begin your day with a visit to one of Montalcino’s oldest cellars at Argiano Estate.
– Continue to Col d’Orcia for an exclusive visit and lunch, sampling wines from one of the largest and most sustainably managed estates in the appellation.
– In the evening, conclude your Tuscan adventure at the Sesti Family Estate, where you’ll enjoy a private dinner prepared by a Michelin-starred chef.
Day 4
Sunday 19th April 2026
– Check out and departure from the hotel.

Filippo Magnani is a wine tourism pioneer and seasoned expert. After earning a degree in Hotel and Tourism Management in Florence and an MBA in Hospitality Management in the UK, Filippo launched Fufluns in 1999, a bespoke travel boutique specializing in wine tours across Tuscany and Italy. A WSET Diploma holder since 2006, he is an esteemed wine writer and contributor to publications like Decanter and Wine Tourism Mag. Recognized globally, Filippo is a member of the Circle of Wine Writers and FIJEV, sharing his passion for wine through his blog, Tales Behind the Wine.
