Many Members may occasionally find themselves dreaming of leaving the rat race behind to make wine in an idyllic rural setting, but few of us are bold (or foolhardy) enough to make the leap.
But in 2009 the Cronk family did just that, swapping the leafy suburbs of southwest London for the blue skies of Cotignac, a small village in the heart of Provence, with a dream to make world-class rosé.
Since the release of Mirabeau Classic in 2010, the brand has gone from strength to strength, becoming a firm summer favourite in the UK market and finding growing following in over 60 countries.
We invite Members to join Stephen Cronk in the St. James’s Room as he regales us with his journey from corporate life into the world of winemaking. We will learn about the trials and tribulations of setting up the business, peek behind the curtain of creating award-winning rosé, and learn about the family’s commitment to regenerative viticulture.
We will also sample a range of the Mirabeau wines, including ‘La Réserve’, the oak-aged estate cuvée, a limited-edition, gastronomic rosé.
Our informal Provençal evening will conclude with a tasting of the award-winning Mirabeau Dry Rosé Gin. Made from upcycled grape skins, this is a pale pink spirit inspired by the abundance of wild botanicals surrounding the estate, and the heritage of world-famous perfumerie in neighbouring Grasse.
The wines we will be tasting:
Mirabeau Classic, Côtes de Provence 2022
Mirabeau X Côteaux d’Aix en Provence 2022
Mirabeau Pure, Côtes de Provence 2022
Mirabeau Etoile, Côtes de Provence 2022
Domaine Mirabeau La Réserve, Côtes de Provence 2022
